Ice Flake

A quartzite in delicate beige tones with subtle golden clouds and reddishly shimmering, finely pronounced veins. Its airy appearance for a quartzite speaks for itself.

Ice Flake is suited for interior applications with stone on or between glass as well as for facade solutions with stone between glass. The stone thickness can be between 0.8 and 3.0 mm as required. For exterior applications, a cut-back along the glass edges of approx. 3 mm is recommended for laminated glass. For insulating glass, the stone can be positioned towards the space between panes.

For curved versions, we work with a maximum stone thickness of 1.0 mm, depending on the radius.

If the stone is to be laminated on one side on glass, different surface treatments are possible: polished, brushed, buffed, honed

Incidentally, after Nacarado Gold, Ice Flake is the second tested stone to achieve the values of laminated safety glass when laminated between glass. This, as well as the fact that we are talking here about a chemically resistant stone that does not absorb water or moisture, must be taken into account in particular for facade applications.

Conclusion: An exceptionally high light transmission combined with a great appearance and outstanding technical properties compared to marble provide a host of possibilities.
